ROSE COMES OUT SMELLING LIKE...A GRADUATE!
Friends and guests alike applauded Robert Rose as he received his diploma for completing the Residential Wireman apprenticeship on
December 14th in McLaughlin Hall at Ventura First Assembly of God Church.
Robert is a California native who has been an electrician with Denny's Electric for nearly 3 years. In addition to becoming a journeyman
residential electrician, he also recently passed his State Certification Test with flying colors.
A rigorous course, the apprenticeship curriculum covers many trade areas from electrical theory to conduit bending to motor controls to load
calculations. Also taught are customer service skills, communication and problem solving.
According to Robert, the most challenging aspect of the apprenticeship was "juggling work, school and family life." He has demonstrated
tremendous perseverance while completing the Residential Electrician Apprenticeship that is sponsored by Denny's Electric. In addition to
being a valuable member of the Denny's team, his goals include commercial electrical certification and top technician at the company.
DAHL MAKES THE GRADE AS ELECTRICIAN
Eric Dahl was honored by both friends and guests as he received his diploma for completing the
Residential Wireman apprenticeshipon December 14th in McLaughlin Hall at Ventura First Assembly of
God Church.
Eric is originally from Washington state. He has been an electrician with Denny's Electric for nearly 3
years. In addition to becoming a journeyman residential electrician, he also recently passed his State
Certification Test with very high scores.
A challenging program, the apprenticeship curriculum covers many craft areas from electrical theory to
conduit bending to motor controls to load calculations. Also taught are customer service skills,
communication and problem solving.
According to Eric, the most challenging aspect of the apprenticeship was "trying to be alert at a night class
after a full day of working." He demonstrated exceptional attention to detail while completing the
Residential Electrician Apprenticeship that is sponsored by Denny's Electric. In addition to being a
valuable member of the Denny's team, his goal is to someday own his own business.

PHILLIPS STRIKES AGAIN!
On December 28, 2007, John Phillips successfully passed both the law and trade portions of the examination given by the California State Licensing Board. He now holds the C-33 license as a painting contractor. This landmark is in addition to his years of outstanding service as the general manager for Denny's Home Services, a remodeling company in Ventura. John has decades of experience in the remodeling field and this is his second certification.
John embodies the philosophy of excellence through service and education, making both himself and his company a huge asset to any client who is considering improving their home.

WORKFORCE INVESTMENT BOARD ANNOUNCES RECIPIENTS OF

The Ventura County Workforce Investment Board (WIB) announced the recipients of the
2008 WIB Awards at their June 12 annual meeting. The awards recognize individuals
and organizations exhibiting exemplary dedication to advancing workforce development
in Ventura County.
"Our award recipients work hard each day so others have the opportunity to succeed,"
says Alex Teague, Chairman of the Ventura County WIB. "They have touched the lives
of hundreds of individuals who are seeking to better themselves. The awards are a way
of saying thank you from the Ventura County community."...
Lifelong Learning - Cindy Adams, owner of Denny's Electric and Home
Services in Ventura.
For the past three years, Adams' company has sponsored an electronics job-training
program for employees who want to learn trade skills. Electronics apprentices from
Santa Paula, Oxnard, Ventura and Fillmore have passed the State Electrical
Certification program and have moved into high paying jobs in the electronics industry.
